Positive changes, to help the world ๐ŸŒŽ

I’m always thinking of little way, to make a big difference to other people life’s. It’s a good feeling helping other people, and I’m sure it’s amazing for other people to be on the receiving end!

all love a coffee stamp card, 9 coffees later and you can finally have a free one! What a great achievement! It's feels amazing right getting something for nothing! Imagine how amazing it would be to give you free coffee to someone who is homeless, who is freezing from sleeping on the road. Why not give it to someone, who has nothing? You will honestly feel ten times more amazing!

Hobbies to fundraising๐Ÿ“šโšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • Fundraising doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact it can be fun! I once did a read-a-thon, I read six books in a week and raise over ยฃ100 for charity! I had the best week of reading and I did it for a great cause. That can be the same with anything from baking to jogging, there’s always room for something.

McDonald’s stickers ๐Ÿคถ๐Ÿผ

  • Every year McDonald’s do monopoly give aways sometimes you win big and sometimes you won food or drink prizes. For the last couple of years, when I have one a meal prize I have given it to a homeless person. Each time they have been so grateful and commented on how thoughtful I was. Defiantly made me feel good.

Spend time with the Elderly ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿผ

  • The Elderly can get really lonely and look forward to social interaction. There are a few ways in which you can help. There is a charity called St Vincent to Paul, which is charity which involves volunteers visiting elderly people or helping them with small chores like their food shop! There is a club in Brighton called the casserole club. This charity pairs you up with someone Elderly in your area and you can choose to drop them dinner or have dinner with them. I know a few people that are involved with these charity’s and they say that it is so rewarding.

Road Trip

I love exploring! Especially after exploring Thailand, I discovered how fun it is to try new places and new things. This weekend me and My partner decided to go on a Road trip!

Friday – Reading
Friday we headed down to Reading, we have been here many times and usually is a straight run that takes less then two hours. Today being the first Friday of the summer holidays it took 3 hours and 45 mins! Night mare, we eventually got to Reading around 2pm. We drove straight to my nan and grandads for a catch up and then to my aunties were we would be staying the night. We went for dinner with my Aunties to TGI Fridays and it was lovely food! The TGI in Reading was not as busy as the one in Brighton but was still fairly busy. We then went to Beach bar, which is soooo random. It's a bar with swings and fake sand, was all fun and games until it rained and we were standing outside with our cocktails! We soon retreated to Yates for a few more drinks and I met with one of my childhood friends for a drink. Which was amazing as we haven't seen each other in years and it felt like nothing had changed. Saturday morning my auntie made us all bacon sandwiches, which I think we all needed!

Saturday – Basingstoke
Saturday lunch time, we drove to Basingstoke for shopping and lunch. We of course went to Nando's for our lunch! Shopping was great we both got loads of hits we needed! I defiantly recommend festival place for food and shopping. The car park was a little confusing.. we defiantly lost out car for twenty mins haha!

Saturday night hotel disaster
Our original hotel was booked in Hook. They called us Thursday night to tell us they where going refurbishments to the hotel and some of the rooms were not ready. The rooms we booked happened to be the ones not ready. They said they would book us in to a hotel down the Road. On Saturday, 4pm we checked into the new hotel. We walked to our room to find it hadn't been cleaned from the people that slept there before, there was dirty sheets and dirty towels in the room. After complaining, they showed us to another room but even though this room had been cleaned, it was so small, black stained carpet and was to a poor standard for £70 I had paid. We managed to get a refund and decided to stay at the Hilton in Bracknell which was a 20 min drive

Hilton bracknell
What a lovely hotel! We checked in at 6:30pm. Our room was nice and tidy, had an amazing double jet shower. It was super busy but we managed to book a table for 8pm for dinner. I felt so refreshed after a shower and got ready with a glass of bubbly. Dinner was a 3 course buffet; I had patte on toast, curry and rice and sponge cake for desert. Me and my partner for the first time in our life shared a bottle of wine ( now I know he likes it.. we can drink wine every date night! YAASS) I had a good night sleep and had a great
breakfast in the morning!

Winchester – science centre
Sunday morning we drove to Winchester to play at the science centre! Great fun for all ages from testing how high you can jump, to learning about your organs to watching a film about the galaxy!
We spend around 3 hours here!

Portsmouth pier
After playing at the science centre, we were not ready for our adventure to end yet. We made a diversion on the way home to Portsmouth pier, we played in the Arcade, had a burger from Browns, went on rides and played mini golf! I really loved Portsmouth and want to play a weekend to come back!

Home
6pm, we arrived home tired from our day of fun! Just in time to change into pjs and watch Monana ( which is now on sky yay)

Lunch with myself? I can’t cancel that again!

Oh yes, I've used a Grinch quote! ( if you are wondering what the Grinch is you better say sorry to Dr Seauss)

Doing things by yourself is such an important aspect of life and mental health. It helps your confidence grow as well as giving you time to reflect and think.

Now and again I like to go for a coffee with myself. I bring along my Kindle and a note pad. I try and avoid looking at my phone as that distracts me. I order myself a nice hot drink and try find a seat by the window.

Years ago, I struggled to walk to the shop on my own and I always asked my friends to come with me. It took a while to build up my confidence to do it but I feel amazing every time I do it.

I write down my thoughts and ideas that I have reflected on. Even taking a hour out just to spend time reading really helps. I always feel great afterwards.

This has helped me become confident in going to the gym by myself. I've even started to going to fitness classes on my own.

So try it next time you have a spare hour! Book in some time to meet yourself and spend time with yourself.

Slay at Life

  • Own a diary – A diary can be such an advantage in life. You can organise the balance of your life from work, social and personal. I also write to do lists in mine and highlight when they are complete. This will help you BOSS at life. Make sure all your work jobs are done before you go home, make a note to call someone on a certain date to look efficient. Haven't called your nan in a while? Make a note in your diary to call after work. If you don't do it, you will have to tip ex it out and you will feel guilty; therefore it's in your best interest to stick to it. I also allocated time for myself 7-8:30 – pamper time. Then on my to do list remind myself to buy face masks.

  • Me, Myself and I – let me tell you, that the only person you will spend every second and every breath with is yourself. If you are not loving yourself, then you are not slaying at life. You have to make sure the relationship with yourself is healthy. like if you don't spend time with your Boyf, you feel annoyed that your relationship is crap, same kind of thing. If your not allowing time for yourself, then you feel unwanted and unloved. As I said above allocate once a week minimum to wack a face mask on, soak in the bath and read a book.

  • Healthy eating – boring alert I know. However, it is scientifically proven that a healthy diet improves energy levels, sleep levels, alert levels and your mental health. Not to mentioned eating healthy can give you better skin, nails and hair. There are also long term befits which can reduce your chances of diabetes, dementia and cancer. It's a no brainer but of course, it's also good to treat yourself now and again. If your going to eat lots of ice cream one evening, make sure you have some fruit and veg in the morning.

  • Relationships – This stands for everyone if you are single, dating or in a relationship. Do not revolve your life around finding a boyfriend or based on your relationship. Yes, having a boyfriend is great but it's not always a walk in the park. Sometimes you argue and it may seem like the worst thing in the world, easier said then done but switch your phone off and distract yourself with other aspects of your life. Never carry your baggage into work, leave it at the front door. If your relationship is not your world, then you won't feel like it's falling apart when something goes wrong. This stand for you single or currently dating people, don't make this your focus in life make yourself your focus, your career and what you want to achieve.

  • Fitness – oh yes I said it! When we think of fitness, we mainly think of loosing weight! Which is brilliant, and great for your ego. Regular exercise can also help with improving your Stamina, strength, and flexibility. It is also proven to reduce stress, lifts moods and help you sleep better. It is also rumoured to keeping you looking and feeling younger. I used to suffer from Chronic Tension disorder and the doctors told me to excersise, at the time I could not think of anything worse then to work out when I had a throbbing headache but believe me it helps. I feel great working out in the week, helps me to feel fresh and be clear minded.
  • No bad vibes – I love when people say this phrase because who needs bad vibes in their life? If your "Friends" make you feel negative, then they are bad vibes and you need to cut the cord. Easier said then done, but it's something That I done last year and I feel much better for it. If you see a negative situation arising, remove yourself from it don't need to get involved. If you feel like going somewhere is dodgy or you don't get the right vibes then don't go. You will feel much more positive in life.
  • Ask for help – As much as it's nice to be independent we don't know everything in the world. Not only that, but sometimes our opinions are will come from our personal experiences and emotion. A outside opinion may have other life experiences that can broaden the opinion. There is no harm in asking for advise and as much as we want to show our parents and grandparents that we can do this Adulting life, sometimes they are the wisest people for advice. Speaking to people about your problems, can also give you relief and be beneficial for your mental health.

  • Keep learning – We go to school, we go to six form, you may go into university and then our given education stops. Why not learn a open university course online? Why not do a project manager course online? Why not see what your local community hall are teaching. It's important to keep your brain sharp, it can help with your interaction skills and may give you interesting things to discuss. It can also help you progress in your career.
  • Eat the frog – this may be my favourite saying! If you have something bad you have to do like make a bad or uncomfortable phone call, or let someone down; the worst thing you can do is to think about it all day and keep putting it off. The saying eat the frog means stop staring at the frog worrying about it, just do it and get it over and done with. Leaving it to later will not help your case and if anything it can make it worse. Most of the time I find that people are understanding and there was no base for my original anxiety.
  • Do something different – do something you wouldn't normally do. Try a water sport, go for a long country walk, visit a museum. We find our self saying "I'm boring, I don't really have any hobbies", unless we try New things we won't know what excites us. The internet is your hero, search fun things to do in England and start making your list.

These small tips all add up to give you direction in life, organisational skills and positive mind. They really do make the difference and even if you try one step a week and find only a few of them help, then at least your life has still been improved.

Most importantly be you, because no one can slay the way you do, like you.

Listsย

I read a post online today about a girl that LOVES lists! And I am with you honey!

Writting down your goals is commitment in writting that you are going to do somthing! And once you’ve achieved and ticket of highlighted it.. well what an amazing feeling!

I love a list and today I was writing a list about writing lists.

At the start of every year I usually write down my goals! This year was different because I went traveling my only goals was to see more, so more, eat more and tan more!

Now that I am back to reality it’s time to get my list on!

So I have written a list on my phone keys things to by a super cute note pad and super cute colour gel pens!

Next I want to write lists of:

I’m hoping to add more to lists To my notepad but the ideas might not come until I choose the notepad!
Lists are great for setting your goals in writting! No going back once they are set!

What do you write lists about? Do you find them helpful?

Traveling with your Partner

Since being back, I have been asked lots of time weather I found it difficult to travel with my boyfriend.

Before, I left for Thailand in January I must admit this was somthing that had crossed my mind. We do not argue a lot but we argue over the little things like couples do.

Upon arriving in Thailand, we were tired from all the traveling and where grouchy because we were confused by the arrival card forms. I could sense that my boyfriend was getting annoyed and was asking me questions as if it was my fault. I thought oh no here we go.

The truth is, that was about as much as we argued in Thailand.

The everyday life of traveling around Thailand, takes away so many of the stresses back home. Speed of life, is not full on anymore it’s medium. You don’t have to rush home from work too cook dinner, before going to bed and starting again. There was nothing to argue about.
If anything traveling made our relationship stronger. I now like to allocate us time together, to just be us and spend time together.

For me I was worried about wearing no make up all the time. Within the first week, I was going out without make up on and this allowed me confidence to grow. The best thing was my boyfriend every other day, kept telling me how beautiful I look. He told me how he noticed more freckles surfacing and how lovely and refreshed I looked. This really helped with my confidence and helped me feel comfortable in my own skin.

Sometimes, we found it harder to make friend as a couple, rather then a solo back packer. We found ourself  mainly making friend with already formed groups or other couples. I feel that solo backpacker do not want to feel third wheely. Which I understand as there are some cringey couples out there, but I think we are okay ha ha.

We had lots of drunken night out, long trecks and relaxing days. The trip  made me realise I wasn’t just traveling with my boyfriend, I was traveling with my best friend.

Now that we are home, I find myself receiving text messages saying ” I love you beautiful, you are my best friend”. Which I admit is cringey but it does make me realise how good our relationship is.

Cannot wait for our next adventure.

Why hate it before you try itย

A lot of people don’t like sushi.

when I ask why most people say because they don’t like fish. Did you know that sushi means ” on a bed of rice”

Sushi does not necessarily mean you would put anything fishy on it. They do vegetable sushi, chicken sushi, curry sushi.

I often wonder what goes on in somebody’s head, when they say they do not like something, before they have tried.

My boyfriend will not try gherkins or olives because they are green. When someone offers them to him, he says he dosent like them. How does he know if he hasn’t try them.

When I was younger I used to make my mind up, if I didn’t like somthing before trying it. My dad would make me try it, I would chew it and swallow quickl, then agree that I defiantly didn’t like it. My dad said how would you know, you made up your mind before you ate it.

I believe this method of thinking, is also how we think about life.

Have you ever gone to Thorpe park? Looked at the scariest ride and thought nope I won’t like that. Then the person you are with keeps pestering you and you end up going on it due to peer pressure. Then you hate yourself for giving in as you are being strapped up, preparing yourself to have an enjoyable experience. The ride goes and your still panicking as it head to the scariest part, and once you have done it you laugh. You laugh because you are relived, as it wasn’t as scary as you expected. You laugh because you actually had fun and enjoyed it. You laugh because you have just experience such a contract of judging and hating the experience before doing it, and actually loving and having fun during the experience.

If you can change your mind set of hating before you try, you will find life more enjoyable. The food that you hate before trying, actually may be somthing you end up having in your daily diet. That ride at Thorpe park that you would hate to go on, may be the reason you want to go again.

If you start saying yes to trying new things, your life will be open to so many new aspects. It may take you traveling, it may take you sky diving and I promise you it will open your eyes.

Reality of being homeย

As upset as I was to come home early. I landed in Gatwick at lunch time, and I became excited to hug my parents, have a cup of tea and a bubble bath. I was very happy to see my parents, emotional hugs as support during this time.
I got home and put the kettle on. Home did not feel as homely as I expected. It seemed smaller and I felt like a foreign giants. My cup of tea was great in my favourite mug. The next morning, I got up and made a cup of tea and sat and watched the news. I missed being on the beach with a strawberry or mango fruit smoothie. Missed waking up, feeling excited for today’s adventure.

We had lots to do, sort out our phones, see Tony’s friends and family, sort work out, get a diary, sort out storage in our bedroom.. so much to do. No more stress free morning, when are hardest decision was to relax on the beach before or after we explored the area.

Every day we would swim in the sea or a swimming pool. Yesterday morning, I got changed straight into my work out gear and went for a run outside. It was nice to be outside excerising again, but still not the same.

I’m currently having a bubble bath, face mask on and drinking a chai tea. I felt that some time to reflect would be good for my mind. All I can think about is missing traveling and looking at around the world tickets online.

Last night, I went to church to light a candle for my auntie and for my family. It was a church I had been to a few times with my dad. This time when I went, I noticed the paintings on the wall, the wooden alter, the mosaics glass artwork. It was like traveling has opened my mind to be more observant and notice new things. It is such a beautiful world, when you open your mind. When I jogged to the park yesterday, I always thought it was a rubbish little park in Mile oak. When I jogged to the top of the hill, and turned around I could see the sea me stood there for a minute to take it all in.

It’s safe to say I’ve been bit by the travel bug. I’ve bought a scratch of map, to decide our next destination!

Emotional goodbye to Thailand, my paradise

Due to sad family news, we have had to cut our trip early. We booked flight for 2 days after to return home.
As we were in Koh Phanang, we had a lots of traveling to do as we needed to fly from Bangkok. We started journey, at 5pm. All of our bags packed, wearing our airport clothes. I’ve updated my airport trousers to super comfy elephant trousers and strap top. A taxi picked us up and took us to the pier.
The ferry to Koh Samui to big Buddha pier, took only half an hour. I started to feel sad that this was our last boat journey. I found the boat journeys, super relaxing sitting on the top deck sitting with my legs over the edge. One of my favourite journeys, was seeing dolphins swimming from Ao nang to Koh Samui.
From Big Buddha, we got a mini bus to the Airport for 100 Baht per person.
Koh Samui airport was busy, their seems be only one airline that flys from there. The queues took forever. Once checked in, we had a look around the airport, it was so laid back that it didn’t feel like an airport.
We waited for an hour before Boarding our flight which was slightly delayed. The flight took a hour and half to Bangkok. The flight where around ยฃ100 each, but you where served a little food which was great.
Once at Bangkok airport, we checked in. I got emotional being at Bangkok airport, as this is where our beautiful journey began over 6 and half weeks ago. We arrived curious of what to expect on our trip, and wondering how to get a taxi and how much to pay. I got emotional and actually cried a little realising our journey was over. Tony cuddled me and said it’s not over, it’s just beginning because now we know we want to see more of the world.
It took a hour and flurry five minutes in Emirates check in queue and when we got to the desk they told us we might not have a ticket as they where over booked ( although we had already paid ยฃ1500 for our flight) after another half hour wait they managed to sort our flight out. After, immigration checks to leave the country we had to run to our gate as we were now very late despite arriving 3 and half hours before our flight. As we arrived at the gate, it was literally about to close and we were the last few people on the flight.
The first half of our flight was to Dubai and took around 6 hours and 10 mins. As this was a 2am flight, I managed to sleep for a few hours.
Once arrived in Dubai airport we had a two hour wait. Tony, wanted a McDonald’s in Bangkok but due to the chaos we didn’t have them to get one. As soon as we got to Dubai he was searching for McDonald’s.
Dubai airport was HUGE. We took a elevator to the top floor, then a five minute walk to the train. We got of the train at the next stop. Then another elevator and then a 5 min walk to our gate. Disappointed to discover, we did not have seats together but I luckily managed to swap with the girl next to me.

Every time, I’ve been to Dubai I always get “randomly” checked. When you get randomly checked, you have to go into a private room. The first time I was patt searched everywhere, and I mean everywhere. The second time I was drug swabbed under arms, in between boobs, hands, feet and my shoes and phone where also swabbed and I had to wait for the results. Great, that they are so strict on security and questionable to why I look so dodgy haha.
I am currently on the plan from Dubai to London, Gatwick. We still have around 4 and half hours to go. I’m currently watching ghost busters 2 with a cup of tea. I have to say, it’s the first proper brew I have had in six and half weeks.
I am a little more excited to go home now, see my family, have a bubble bath, have a good cuppa and a nandos. I’m sad as my journey was cut short but I need to go home and be with my family.
I have so many more dreams of place I want to visit. I am satisfied that we covered everything south that we wanted to cover, my highlight where swimming in waterfalls, Kayaking on the sea, water parks, drunken nights on the beach and meeting new people.
My current journey is over but it is to be continued.
