Positive changes, to help the world 🌎

I’m always thinking of little way, to make a big difference to other people life’s. It’s a good feeling helping other people, and I’m sure it’s amazing for other people to be on the receiving end!

Coffee stamp cards ☕️☕️☕️

<
all love a coffee stamp card, 9 coffees later and you can finally have a free one! What a great achievement! It's feels amazing right getting something for nothing! Imagine how amazing it would be to give you free coffee to someone who is homeless, who is freezing from sleeping on the road. Why not give it to someone, who has nothing? You will honestly feel ten times more amazing!

Food Banks🍪🍩🍧🍡🍲🌮🥘

•Don
to your local food bank is a great way to help your local community. There are many ways you can donate, you can donate food that you have in your cupboards. Let’s face it, most of us have tins in our cupboards that have been there FOREVER! Pop them in a bag and drop them to your local food bank.

Buy one get one free⭐️⭐️

•We al
a buy one get one free! Even if we went for one item, it’s great because we can use the other item when the first one runs out. However, you could always donate to your local food bank or to a hopeless person. They will
defiantl
preciate it!

Clothes clear out👚👕👖👔👘

  • Why not sort thought your clothes to declutter your bedroom! Clothes can be donated to local charity shops or again for the homeless. Every time I have a clear out, I donate to different charity shops as I can never decide on which charity is best

Hobbies to fundraising📚⚽️🏒🤼‍♂️

  • Fundraising doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact it can be fun! I once did a read-a-thon, I read six books in a week and raise over £100 for charity! I had the best week of reading and I did it for a great cause. That can be the same with anything from baking to jogging, there’s always room for something.

McDonald’s stickers 🤶🏼

  • Every year McDonald’s do monopoly give aways sometimes you win big and sometimes you won food or drink prizes. For the last couple of years, when I have one a meal prize I have given it to a homeless person. Each time they have been so grateful and commented on how thoughtful I was. Defiantly made me feel good.

Spend time with the Elderly 👵🏼

  • The Elderly can get really lonely and look forward to social interaction. There are a few ways in which you can help. There is a charity called St Vincent to Paul, which is charity which involves volunteers visiting elderly people or helping them with small chores like their food shop! There is a club in Brighton called the casserole club. This charity pairs you up with someone Elderly in your area and you can choose to drop them dinner or have dinner with them. I know a few people that are involved with these charity’s and they say that it is so rewarding.

Lists

I read a post online today about a girl that LOVES lists! And I am with you honey!

Writting down your goals is commitment in writting that you are going to do somthing! And once you’ve achieved and ticket of highlighted it.. well what an amazing feeling!

I love a list and today I was writing a list about writing lists.

At the start of every year I usually write down my goals! This year was different because I went traveling my only goals was to see more, so more, eat more and tan more!

Now that I am back to reality it’s time to get my list on!

So I have written a list on my phone keys things to by a super cute note pad and super cute colour gel pens!

Next I want to write lists of:

I’m hoping to add more to lists To my notepad but the ideas might not come until I choose the notepad!
Lists are great for setting your goals in writting! No going back once they are set!

What do you write lists about? Do you find them helpful?

Why hate it before you try it

A lot of people don’t like sushi.

when I ask why most people say because they don’t like fish. Did you know that sushi means ” on a bed of rice”

Sushi does not necessarily mean you would put anything fishy on it. They do vegetable sushi, chicken sushi, curry sushi.

I often wonder what goes on in somebody’s head, when they say they do not like something, before they have tried.

My boyfriend will not try gherkins or olives because they are green. When someone offers them to him, he says he dosent like them. How does he know if he hasn’t try them.

When I was younger I used to make my mind up, if I didn’t like somthing before trying it. My dad would make me try it, I would chew it and swallow quickl, then agree that I defiantly didn’t like it. My dad said how would you know, you made up your mind before you ate it.

I believe this method of thinking, is also how we think about life.

Have you ever gone to Thorpe park? Looked at the scariest ride and thought nope I won’t like that. Then the person you are with keeps pestering you and you end up going on it due to peer pressure. Then you hate yourself for giving in as you are being strapped up, preparing yourself to have an enjoyable experience. The ride goes and your still panicking as it head to the scariest part, and once you have done it you laugh. You laugh because you are relived, as it wasn’t as scary as you expected. You laugh because you actually had fun and enjoyed it. You laugh because you have just experience such a contract of judging and hating the experience before doing it, and actually loving and having fun during the experience.

If you can change your mind set of hating before you try, you will find life more enjoyable. The food that you hate before trying, actually may be somthing you end up having in your daily diet. That ride at Thorpe park that you would hate to go on, may be the reason you want to go again.

If you start saying yes to trying new things, your life will be open to so many new aspects. It may take you traveling, it may take you sky diving and I promise you it will open your eyes.

Bucket list

As many of you will know by now, I love a bucket list. I have managed to tick a few more things off in Thailand. Thailand also inspired me to add a few knew things. I’ve also added into the to do list countries I’ve been too; I’ve currently been to 12 countries and can’t wait to add more.

Shine

Today’s daily promt is the word shine. Whilst, to me the word shine may be positive to other it may not.

Some people may struggle to shine, or they my feel of they shine as much as they want to they may be judged my others.

The words shine, is to show everything, to beam and give it your all. To make a door handle shiny, you have to add polish and give it a load of elbow grease.

For us to personally shine to out full potential. We have to strip back to basics and give it everything we have.

In order to shine at work, you have to break the job down in to smaller bites and master each individual part, so that the total part shines.

To be best we can be as a person, we have to get rid of any fake aspects on the surface and work hard with what we have naturally.

Why do we want to shine? Because the heart automatically loves shiny things. It’s get all of our senses excited, to our eyes eye candy and to our brains a puzzle of why it is shiny.

Food bank

My Dad is chairman of a Food bank based in Hangleton. Every year I attempt to raise money, at Christmas time to dontate to the charity.

I head most days from my dad about horrible situations people have been left in that leaves then without enough money to purchase dinner for them and there family. The little things we take for grant age like bread and tea bags are out of reach of people that could live on the same road as us. Food banks in general, are amazing charities that organisations as big as supermarkets and as small as someone clearing out their cupboard can donate too.

The first year I raised money by organising a office cake sale which raise just under £100. All the Your Move staff got involved by baking there own cakes and mince pies. We invited clients into our office for cake and coffee, as well as visiting all other local offices with the remaining cakes.

The Christmas just gone, we came up with a new idea. We decided to organise a reverse advent calendar. Instead of opening a chocolate advent calendar, everyday and receive chocolate, we did the opposite. We would open a box that we made, and put something inside.

Donations ranged from teabags to baby food. I asked my Dad what they needed he most and at the time they really needed baby stuff. Not only did the staff at Your Move donate daily, we had donations from clients, friends and contractors. Our Valuation Managers mother dontates £25, and with that we went and bought lots of baby food, baby wipes, dummies.

The box was collected a few days before Christmas and we were overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that was collected. It was so rewarding donating that amount of stuff just before Christmas. Knowing that we made a difference to lots of families, so refreshing.

I will continue to raise money for food banks, as I feel so passionate about what they do for local community’s.

If you are looking for a New Years resolution this year, I challenge you to speak to your local food bank and see what you can do to help because I guarantee you it will be rewarding.

What I learnt in 2016

As 2016 draws to a end, I’ve taken the time to reflect on what I have learnt. The year has been full of many ups and downs. I’m excited to for 2017, with all the new things I have learnt.

Focous on you, yourself and I

You are the only person that you have to spend your life with, every second and every breath. If you have ever watched black mirror (first series) it shows a girl living inside of her own brain and she had to control her life with a control panel. The truth is, that’s what life is about you are in control of the panel. If your not happy, then change.

Avoid processed food, healthy food can be fun

Courtesy of Joe wicks AKA the body coach, I have learnt that processed food is a no no. If you do not know what all the ingredients are on the packet don’t eat it. I’ve also learnt that you can eat burger and chips on a diet but you make the burgers yourself from lean turkey meat and your fries are sweet potato. Eating healthy dosent have to be boring!
You can do what you want no commitment

The start of this year I moved back home with parents and I was going to save to buy a house. Avoiding going out, so I could save became boring and I realise my heart wasn’t 100% in it. Living at home, working full time with no commitments e.g. Children, meant the world is my oyster. With this in mind I decided to save to go traveling next year ! Super excited

Going to the gym early morning is actually easy and refreshing

Okay, so I thought it was something I couldn’t do. After going a few times, I found it easier to go early morning before work then I did going to the gym on my way home. I actually, feel very refreshed after a morning gym session and am ready to conquer the day!

Work with higher authority rather then being scared of them
I used to be scared of anyone in a higher position then me. My big boses would come in, and I would say hi and avoid any further conversations. This year I learnt I am more knowledgable then I know and instead of avoiding them, I should take time to talk to them and I learnt a lot. I am now at a point of my life, that when I have a good idea I have enough confidence to put it forward to someone higher and the results have paid off.

Stop being mean to my hair no more bleach
Looking at photos from last year to now, I’ve gone from bleach blonde hair to ombré. My hair was like straw and when I would brush my hair, it would malt everywhere. Planning to go traveling helped me realise I can’t have hair like straw out there and needs to be manageable. I went ombré and had the brown matching my roots. I stopped bleaching my hair and instead had the end toned every couple of months. My hair is so much more healthy, I don’t panic about getting my roots done and I’m not worried about it when I go traveling next year. I used to straighten my hair everyday and now I only straighten or curl my hair at weekend IF I’m going out.

Granny pants are not the end of the world

This year I’ve been in and out of hospital and nothing makes me feel better then getting into bed in my granny pants with an oversized tshirt. They are much better for us girlies and when you go to the gym FYI thongs are bad for you.

Time out = mental health

This reflects on all of the above but the main thing is balence. Yes it’s good to push yourself at work, yes push yourself st the gym, yes have a social life and see your family. Also yes, to taking a couple of hours or a Sunday out of all of the above and taking time for you. Have a bubble bath, light some candels and read a book ( hide your phone) get into some pjs paint your nails and watch a Disney film. Honestly, you will thank me. You cannot push yourself in anything, if your mental health is not okay, your brain won’t cope or fulfil its full capacity.

Sober times with friends

As great it is to have a good drunken night out, I’ve realised this year how important it is to do sober things with your friends. Example, on Monday night we have girls night with my besties, we cook dinner together, get in house coats ( dressing gowns) and watch Tv / do nails ect. I also have a friend ( Rosie) that I meet once a month and we go for coffee, or lunch at pompokos. It’s so important to spend this sober time with your friends. It’s allows times for bonding and time to talk properly.

2016 has taught me a lot about myself, my true friends and family. It’s given me confidence at work, about my weight. It’s shown me I can I get through some of my worse times. I cannot wait for 2017, with everything I have learnt!

Yay for Low tenants fees, not so happy about high rents

On the 23rd November 2016, it was announced that there would be a ban put in place for tenants fees. This means tenants would save fees paid for administration when they move into a property.

In a article published by the BBC News, chancellor Mr Hammon said “shifting costs to landlord will save 4.3 million households hundreds of pounds”

A surgery publishing the Guardian news paper in February this year, claimed that more families rent in the UK, then own there own homes. For a lot of people this would be really good news right? Wrong.

Landlords are mainly investors. This means purchasing a house, with a buy to let mortgage to rent out, is so that they will make money and get a good capital growth.

They want to save as much money on outgoing e.g. Fees and earn the most they can in rent. If the cost of fees lost by tenants is shifted to the landlord, the only way for them to cover their loss is to demand higher rent for the tenants. This results in house prices rising again!

In the last few years, the government has enforced many new laws that estate agents and landlords must carry out for a move in. They now have to supply tenants with government how to rent guides, copies of has safety certificates and EPCS. They have to do immigration checks and keep up to date with government guidelines. October last year, it and law to make sure smoke alarms are fitted on every floor and that they where tested on the day of move in. If a gas safety is invalid for over one day, then landlord can not service notice. All of this, plus fully referencing tenants and all the paper work that goes with it for each move in that an estate agent does.

Where does that leave estate agents? Doing double the work that they would of done maybe ten years ago? And doing this without any payments from the tenant.

I personally believe feel this will effect small independent estate agents. As landlords will shop around for cheaper fees and the bigger companies will seem more preferable.
David Cox, director of ARLA made this statement regarding the issue.

So before we get excited about saving a couple of hundred pounds, let’s hope they find a solution to save money on higher rents.
