Positive changes, to help the world ๐ŸŒŽ

I’m always thinking of little way, to make a big difference to other people life’s. It’s a good feeling helping other people, and I’m sure it’s amazing for other people to be on the receiving end!

Coffee stamp cards โ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธ

<
all love a coffee stamp card, 9 coffees later and you can finally have a free one! What a great achievement! It's feels amazing right getting something for nothing! Imagine how amazing it would be to give you free coffee to someone who is homeless, who is freezing from sleeping on the road. Why not give it to someone, who has nothing? You will honestly feel ten times more amazing!

Food Banks๐Ÿช๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿง๐Ÿก๐Ÿฒ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฅ˜

โ€ขDon
to your local food bank is a great way to help your local community. There are many ways you can donate, you can donate food that you have in your cupboards. Let’s face it, most of us have tins in our cupboards that have been there FOREVER! Pop them in a bag and drop them to your local food bank.

Buy one get one freeโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

โ€ขWe al
a buy one get one free! Even if we went for one item, it’s great because we can use the other item when the first one runs out. However, you could always donate to your local food bank or to a hopeless person. They will

preciate it!

Clothes clear out๐Ÿ‘š๐Ÿ‘•๐Ÿ‘–๐Ÿ‘”๐Ÿ‘˜

  • Why not sort thought your clothes to declutter your bedroom! Clothes can be donated to local charity shops or again for the homeless. Every time I have a clear out, I donate to different charity shops as I can never decide on which charity is best

Hobbies to fundraising๐Ÿ“šโšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • Fundraising doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact it can be fun! I once did a read-a-thon, I read six books in a week and raise over ยฃ100 for charity! I had the best week of reading and I did it for a great cause. That can be the same with anything from baking to jogging, there’s always room for something.

McDonald’s stickers ๐Ÿคถ๐Ÿผ

  • Every year McDonald’s do monopoly give aways sometimes you win big and sometimes you won food or drink prizes. For the last couple of years, when I have one a meal prize I have given it to a homeless person. Each time they have been so grateful and commented on how thoughtful I was. Defiantly made me feel good.

Spend time with the Elderly ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿผ

  • The Elderly can get really lonely and look forward to social interaction. There are a few ways in which you can help. There is a charity called St Vincent to Paul, which is charity which involves volunteers visiting elderly people or helping them with small chores like their food shop! There is a club in Brighton called the casserole club. This charity pairs you up with someone Elderly in your area and you can choose to drop them dinner or have dinner with them. I know a few people that are involved with these charity’s and they say that it is so rewarding.

Road Trip

I love exploring! Especially after exploring Thailand, I discovered how fun it is to try new places and new things. This weekend me and My partner decided to go on a Road trip!

Friday – Reading
Friday we headed down to Reading, we have been here many times and usually is a straight run that takes less then two hours. Today being the first Friday of the summer holidays it took 3 hours and 45 mins! Night mare, we eventually got to Reading around 2pm. We drove straight to my nan and grandads for a catch up and then to my aunties were we would be staying the night. We went for dinner with my Aunties to TGI Fridays and it was lovely food! The TGI in Reading was not as busy as the one in Brighton but was still fairly busy. We then went to Beach bar, which is soooo random. It's a bar with swings and fake sand, was all fun and games until it rained and we were standing outside with our cocktails! We soon retreated to Yates for a few more drinks and I met with one of my childhood friends for a drink. Which was amazing as we haven't seen each other in years and it felt like nothing had changed. Saturday morning my auntie made us all bacon sandwiches, which I think we all needed!

Saturday – Basingstoke
Saturday lunch time, we drove to Basingstoke for shopping and lunch. We of course went to Nando's for our lunch! Shopping was great we both got loads of hits we needed! I defiantly recommend festival place for food and shopping. The car park was a little confusing.. we defiantly lost out car for twenty mins haha!

Saturday night hotel disaster
Our original hotel was booked in Hook. They called us Thursday night to tell us they where going refurbishments to the hotel and some of the rooms were not ready. The rooms we booked happened to be the ones not ready. They said they would book us in to a hotel down the Road. On Saturday, 4pm we checked into the new hotel. We walked to our room to find it hadn't been cleaned from the people that slept there before, there was dirty sheets and dirty towels in the room. After complaining, they showed us to another room but even though this room had been cleaned, it was so small, black stained carpet and was to a poor standard for £70 I had paid. We managed to get a refund and decided to stay at the Hilton in Bracknell which was a 20 min drive

Hilton bracknell
What a lovely hotel! We checked in at 6:30pm. Our room was nice and tidy, had an amazing double jet shower. It was super busy but we managed to book a table for 8pm for dinner. I felt so refreshed after a shower and got ready with a glass of bubbly. Dinner was a 3 course buffet; I had patte on toast, curry and rice and sponge cake for desert. Me and my partner for the first time in our life shared a bottle of wine ( now I know he likes it.. we can drink wine every date night! YAASS) I had a good night sleep and had a great
breakfast in the morning!

Winchester – science centre
Sunday morning we drove to Winchester to play at the science centre! Great fun for all ages from testing how high you can jump, to learning about your organs to watching a film about the galaxy!
We spend around 3 hours here!

Portsmouth pier
After playing at the science centre, we were not ready for our adventure to end yet. We made a diversion on the way home to Portsmouth pier, we played in the Arcade, had a burger from Browns, went on rides and played mini golf! I really loved Portsmouth and want to play a weekend to come back!

Home
6pm, we arrived home tired from our day of fun! Just in time to change into pjs and watch Monana ( which is now on sky yay)

How I’ve lost 11 pounds in 4 weeksย

Yay for my weight loss! And I can already see a difference! Although granted weight loss is not just about losing the pounds it’s also about loss of inches, because when you gym you also gain muscle which actually make you weigh more. Lucky for me I’ve lost inches on my stomach, arms, legs, knees and chest.

Food

My personal trainer has helped me with a good plan. Limiting carbs is key and actually it’s a lots easier then I thought it would be. Maximising protien and vegetables. Fruit is good but to much has high suger. My example food diary would be as such:

Breakfast

Veg and fruit smoothie – my fave is spinach, apple, banana, spinuala, whey dress

Lunch

Scrambled egg, two eggs no bread or salmon and pease

Dinner

Egg, chorizo and tomato or chicken and veg

Eating restaurants was always my diet errors but now I’ve learnt to replace chips for vegetables or salad. I had steak the other day and replaced chips with more pees and mushrooms.

Fitness

I’m very good at moviracing myself to go to the gym for two weeks and then I usually get bored. I have now learnt that mixing it up keeps it exciting. My week to week Fitness will include one gym session, one fitness class and one swimming session. I try and add atleast one extra fitness thing a week, I usually like to have another gym session. This keeps it fun and excersizes different muscle groups. I am also seeing my personal trainer once every two weeks and she either does a hardcore cardio or strength session

Mind

A lot of fitness is to do with mind. Avoiding drunken nights out is inportant for a clear mind set. Plus a night out makes you out on 3-4 pounds ah! I try to only drink twice a month as rule, granted I do not always stick to this but I do try. Setting out time for myself is key, because you need time to refuel. Take a bath, read a book have a green tea.

I’m hoping to loose more weight as I have a wedding to attend in 6 weeks. I’m seeing my personal trainer next week and I am ready to up my plan!

I would love to know, of anyone has further tips on weight loss?

Koh Lanta

After phi phi, we got a a ferry to Koh Lanta. This ferry was smaller and defiantly a lot bumpier. Closing my eyes just made me feel more seasick. I spent the whole journey reading my book.

Once we arrived in Koh Lanta we had booked a hotel at Hugs hotel and we got a taxi there. The taxis where actually a lady driver a moterbike with a crate on the side. Interestingly, our journey there was full of feeling unbalanced and her driving around pot holes so the moterbike didn’t tip over.
Our hotel was nice and simple and staff where lovely. We where a 10 min walk from the beautiful beach, which we went to almost every day.
We spent a total of 7 days in Koh Lanta. We got into a routine of going for breakfast, getting changed into beach stuff and going to the beach. At the beach we bought goggles, and for the first time in many many years i was convinced to hold my breath and put my head under the water. Which once I done it once, I had so much fun and took lots of underwater selfies with the go pro.

I’m the evening we would go out for dinner, we found lots of nice places for dinner including a resteraunt on the beach where we watched the sun go down and a pub called the Irish embassy that did good western food.

We adventures out one night, first to a quite bar where we played Jenga, cards and pool. From there we went to the monkey bar, where there was live karaoke. The atmosphere was amazing, and even though I wasn’t completely drunk decided to sing a Jessie J song with my boyfriend.

For two days, we adventures to Koh Lanta old town. This is a very cute small town. We walked along the old pier, and the vie was beautiful.

We walked into the main town and went to all the shops. Unlike anywhere else they did rice engraving. So you bought a neck less and put a bit of rice inside and the rice you could have engraved a name on. We were also recommended by a friend to try a restaurant called family BBQ, it was a 15 min walk away from our hotel but was worth it.

For our last night we headed to a hotel closer to the pier, it was slightly over budget but included breakfast. It was really nice as it has a swimming pool by the beach. Me and Tony played Volly ball until it was dark, went and showered and filled out hungry bellies with chicken satay. They also served flavoured soda water, blue Hawaiian was my favourite. The staff spoke very good English and were always joking around.

The next day after breakfast, we took a ferry back to Ao Nang in Krabi.

We plan to stay here for a few night before head to Koh Samui. It’s strange because we spent around 5 days here last time, I almost have a homely feeling when we got here.
Realising we need to stick to a budget now we decided to try hostels for around 800 baht a night. Being the great negotiator that I am, I managed to negotiate a hotel room down to this price for two night ( usually 1200 Baht) not bad.

Grenadaย

My Mum is from the West Indies. She is from a very small island called Grenada, which is placed close to Trinidad and Tobago.

The island is very small and is not developed in most area. The capital city is St George’s. This area has lots of shops and markets. The smell of nutmeg is very distinct there.

A lot of the roads in Grenada do not have road signed or road markings. This is very scary when your driving up the moantains on narrow and curvy roads.

Unlike the U.K., there is no middle class people. You are either poor and live in beach huts or you are Rich and live in huge houses.

My great grandad who passed away about 7 years ago, lived in a huge house with Akers of land. I visited him here three times in my life. He lived to be in his 90’s and was concidered the elder of Grenada. People would bring him gifts out of respect. I used to love going to his garden and picking fresh mangos for breakfast.

My Auntie Eslen also owned a big house. It was tradition to get up really early to have breakfast. Saltfish, plankton and fruit! Yum yum.

My uncle David made a living from growing coco pods and selling them to the main chocolate company in the carrabien. I got to see the process of hove a cocopod is made into chocolate.

With lovely warm countries comes pesky bugs. I once thought I saw a small snake but then I realised it was a millipede. There is also a animal called a bat moth, it’s a moth the size of bat. At night time you would see the fire flys hovering around, very cool to look at.

Every body i met in Grenada was very nice. Everyone is down to earth, a lot of them laughed that they had not seen a white person before.

They also are not worried about time as much as we are. They sometimes joke that they may be late, so they say “see you at 5 in West Indian time”

The beaches there are heaven! White sand and blue waters so clear you can see what your swimming with. There is a beach called the bbc, the all the locals know but is hard for tourists to find. Nothing is better then being on that beach, getting your hair braided while drinking a cold glass of ting.

I hope I have educated you all on Grenada. Every time I tell someone where my mum is from they have no idea where it is!

Is there such a thing as luck?ย

Here is a question that I hear others people discussing all the time.

Did the guy that lives over there win the lottery because of luck? Did he win because of his faith or religion? Or did he win it because he had so many chances?

When I was 7, I entered a competition to win a Kodak Camera. It was a small blue one that print your photo instantly. After entering I told my mum that I was getting a Kodak Camera. She tried to explain to me it was a competition and I had to be selected randomly to win. I remember feeling slightly confused and then shaking the feeling off by getting excited for my Kodak camera.
