Road Trip

I love exploring! Especially after exploring Thailand, I discovered how fun it is to try new places and new things. This weekend me and My partner decided to go on a Road trip!

Friday – Reading
Friday we headed down to Reading, we have been here many times and usually is a straight run that takes less then two hours. Today being the first Friday of the summer holidays it took 3 hours and 45 mins! Night mare, we eventually got to Reading around 2pm. We drove straight to my nan and grandads for a catch up and then to my aunties were we would be staying the night. We went for dinner with my Aunties to TGI Fridays and it was lovely food! The TGI in Reading was not as busy as the one in Brighton but was still fairly busy. We then went to Beach bar, which is soooo random. It's a bar with swings and fake sand, was all fun and games until it rained and we were standing outside with our cocktails! We soon retreated to Yates for a few more drinks and I met with one of my childhood friends for a drink. Which was amazing as we haven't seen each other in years and it felt like nothing had changed. Saturday morning my auntie made us all bacon sandwiches, which I think we all needed!

Saturday – Basingstoke
Saturday lunch time, we drove to Basingstoke for shopping and lunch. We of course went to Nando's for our lunch! Shopping was great we both got loads of hits we needed! I defiantly recommend festival place for food and shopping. The car park was a little confusing.. we defiantly lost out car for twenty mins haha!

Saturday night hotel disaster
Our original hotel was booked in Hook. They called us Thursday night to tell us they where going refurbishments to the hotel and some of the rooms were not ready. The rooms we booked happened to be the ones not ready. They said they would book us in to a hotel down the Road. On Saturday, 4pm we checked into the new hotel. We walked to our room to find it hadn't been cleaned from the people that slept there before, there was dirty sheets and dirty towels in the room. After complaining, they showed us to another room but even though this room had been cleaned, it was so small, black stained carpet and was to a poor standard for £70 I had paid. We managed to get a refund and decided to stay at the Hilton in Bracknell which was a 20 min drive

Hilton bracknell
What a lovely hotel! We checked in at 6:30pm. Our room was nice and tidy, had an amazing double jet shower. It was super busy but we managed to book a table for 8pm for dinner. I felt so refreshed after a shower and got ready with a glass of bubbly. Dinner was a 3 course buffet; I had patte on toast, curry and rice and sponge cake for desert. Me and my partner for the first time in our life shared a bottle of wine ( now I know he likes it.. we can drink wine every date night! YAASS) I had a good night sleep and had a great
breakfast in the morning!

Winchester – science centre
Sunday morning we drove to Winchester to play at the science centre! Great fun for all ages from testing how high you can jump, to learning about your organs to watching a film about the galaxy!
We spend around 3 hours here!

Portsmouth pier
After playing at the science centre, we were not ready for our adventure to end yet. We made a diversion on the way home to Portsmouth pier, we played in the Arcade, had a burger from Browns, went on rides and played mini golf! I really loved Portsmouth and want to play a weekend to come back!

Home
6pm, we arrived home tired from our day of fun! Just in time to change into pjs and watch Monana ( which is now on sky yay)

First week in Thailandย

We set off on our adventure last Monday. Tony’s alarm went off at 5am. We were already awake and hardly slept that night. Mixed feeling of excitement, nervous and overthinking.

We flew from Gatwick to Dubai and then Dubai to Bangkok in Thailand. My best friends mum works at a resteraunt in Gatwick and she gave us a free breakfast and Buck’s Fizz to start our journey. The flight with emirates was good, I only slept for half an hour but I watched lots of Disney films.

We arrived at Bangkok 7am local time on Tuesday. We stayed at the D&D on Koasan road. If anyone has been to Thailand you will know this is the loadist road ever! It was so loud that my pillow was vibrating from the noise until 2am. Lucky for me I can sleep through anything and I slept all the way through. Tony on the other hand couldn’t sleep.

Bangkok was an interesting place, full of sales men waiting for the load of tourist who have the airport clothes on. They annoyingly pretend to be your friend and then they trick you to buy stuff. This put us exploring Bangkok and so we spent most of our time by the pool and then adventured out at dinner time.

We booked a flight from Bangkok to Krabi. Tony accidentally spelt is name as Tong. Luckily, they gave us a temporary boarding pass. The flight was a very small plane and was s bumpy flight.

Once in Krabi we got a taxi to Ao Nang. We found a cheep hostel for the first night. Ao Nang is a lovely area with lots of resteraunts, bar and beaches. On day two in Ao Nang, we went on our first hike up many many many stairs. It was called the monkey trail but unfortunately due to the rain all the monkey where hiding.

We discovered our new favourite bar in Ao nang the reggae bar! It has love reggae music throughout the night and then live fire show at midnight. We have had two very drunken nights there, starting on the Chang beers and then braving for the sungsum buckets.

Yesterday we met our friend from Brighton, Stu is now in Krabi for a couple of days. We also partied with our hotel receptionist and her sister!

The food is amazing here, pad Thai, red currys. Street food is great, lots of coconut ice cream!

We have spent two days at the beach. It is usually very busy as it’s a touristy area. I’ve enjoyed eating corn on the cob on the beach.

We have stayed in 4 different hotels so far. All of them have been different experiences some very good and some not so good.

We plan to stay in Ao Nang for a few more days and then we are getting a ferry to Phi Phi.

Dieppeย

6am and my alarm is ringing. The only time I love to hear my alarm is when I am going on holiday.

I jump straight out of bed, grab a towel and downstairs to shower. I only washed my hair yesterday but I would like freshly washed hair for today. I trip away with the girls is going to be selfie central. I purposely woke the my boyfriend, so I could climb back in bed for cuddles before setting off.

We arrived at newhaven port around 7:30. We had toasted sausage sandwiches and tea, before boarding the boat. The boat trip took 4 hours and I start reading a new book. We went outside for around ten mins but came back in as it was too windy. When we exited the boat, we went the wrong way once we realised and turned around we could not find anyone on the boat. We eventually found the exit and the security man laughed at us for holiding everyone up.

It was very sunny when we arrived in Dieppe, we took a bus from the port to central Dieppe. From  there we managed to flag down a taxi and us to take us to our hotel. Our hotel was called the F1, and cost 44 euros. It was the only hotel we could find that would accept 3 people in a room. It had a bunk bed in our room and the toilets and shower where communal on each floor. We thought it would be fun, as we always have fun when we are together.

Once settled in our hotel, we drunk cava and got ready to visit the town for dinner.

For dinner we went to a lit up French resteraunt, that seemed to be very popular. Serena and I, had muscles in a garlic sauce and chips. Anna has a carbonara with their local cheese, Anna didn’t eat all of her food after Serena put her off by telling her it smelt bad. We had yummy cocktails with dinner.

After dinner, we visit the kite festival they had stalls, and Tippies and of coarse kites. It was not as lively as we thought, perhaps it was busier during the day.

We walked further down to the seafront, where we shared a crepe for pudding and bought a bottle of wine ( classy I know, but we had plastic cups yay)

Anna and I, walked in the sea. It was still humid, the sea was mildly warm and sun was setting.

Around 10pm, we looked for a taxi. In the end we had to call one. “Parlez-vous anglais” I asked, ” wee wee” he replied. I told him where we were and that we wanted to go back to our hotel. I was feels pretty proud of myself.

Back in the hotel, we ate cone crisps, drank orange juice and ate some strange crisps that tasted like peanut butter. We all had a three way spoon, before Serena went into her bunk bed.

I had a okay night sleep, apart from being woken up by Anna to take her to the communal toilet! She also stole the covers a lot of the night.

In the morning, we woke up around 9am. We decided to google map and walk to the McDonald’s that was 15 mins away. I was a little bit wary about walking there as I felt we where out in the sticks and would have to walk along main roads. It turned out to be a simple 15 min walk.

We ordered petite de’j, which is the equivalent to their mcmuffin.. Apart from it’s just bacon and egg. It was โ‚ฌ2.50 for Petit De’j and a cappuccino, so I treated the girls to breakfast.

To head home, we decided to take a taxi. This time we phones three taxi company’s and none of them spoke the slightest bit of English. With only twenty mins to go, before we had to check in to the ferry, we had to ask the manager of McDonald’s to speak to the taxi man and order is a taxi as she spoke a little English. She kindly did it for us and the taxi took 15 mins.

On the way the girls fell asleep, but I was too much into my book to fall asleep. Outside, the wind was a lot calmer and it was much more peaceful.

Once we arrived back to the UK, my boyfriend picked us up to go home. Very cute, that he got out of the car to give me a big hug.

The trip to Dieppe cost me around ยฃ97 including boat, hotel and spending money. It was sunny weather, and Dieppe had very scenic beaches, boats and buildings.

I enjoyed spending time with the girlies, laughing, drinking, trying to speak French and have a giant sleep over in bunk beds.
