Halloween Make up From Revolution

Itโ€™s still early October but Iโ€™m already excited for Halloween. I have no idea what Iโ€™m dressing up as but Iโ€™ve watched plenty of YouTube make up tutorials.

I was inspired by Tammy on Make up Revolution YouTube channel. She used the SFX beauty Pallet, liquid latex, fake blood and dark lipstick. I actually ordered everything she used in the videos!

For this blog I wanted to share with you, my first attempt at using liquid latex, using the layering technique ( with tissue) and fake blood.

How to do it

  1. Apply liquid latex to the skin
  2. Separate tissue, to small thin layers and stick or piece over liquid latex
  3. Apply liquid latex over tissue
  4. Repeat process like 4-6 times
  5. Cut a hole in the โ€œfake woundโ€
  6. Wait to dry and pour fake blood in

How I found it

I actually was impressed at how easy it was to do. It was pretty messy and even after I cleaned the bathroom, I kept spotting fake blood. I think it would be best to practice before doing the real deal, as I learnt that using small bits of tissue and building it up is really key.

Will I use it again

Defo! Canโ€™t wait to use it for Halloween? Just need some outfit suggestions??? Let me know if you have any ideas???

Make Up Brush – Bath Time ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโœจ

Some people feel like it’s a chore, but I LOVE washing my make up brushes! It is so satisfy when they are clean and fresh.

Firstly, I rinse the the brushes under a hot tap. Making sure to squeeze the foundation and powders out of it.

Next, I wash the brushes with my Tea Tree face scrub and with some antibacterial hand wash. I do this to each individual brush and then I leave it in a container to soak for 30mins to a hour.

Once this is done, I rinse the brushes again thoroughly and leave to dry!

It can take a very long time to dry, so o usually do this on a Sunday morning and it’s usually dry by the next day!

I hope you enjoyed this short post, with my tips! I would love to hear other ways or products you guys use?!

Summer Faves๐Ÿ’‹

Their are lots of factors that effect our skin, hair and bodies. The weather is defiantly one of these factors. I love summer because my skin gets browner and my hair goes lighter. Here are my favourite products to
make it through summer.

Micellar cleansing water 💦

I love this stuff, not only does it melt my eye make up away without tugging and rubbing. It cleans my skin and soothes it. It really leaves my skin feeling fresh!

Simple Moisturiser

I personally prefer a light moisturiser to hydrate my skin. I've tried lots of different ones but have found that this one is the best. The smallest amount gives you lots of vitamins, includes Borage seed oil and it's very natural so should not upset your skin.

Defend your hair girls!

I have two favourite summer hair products; that I will use without fail. The first is this Argan oil heat defence leave in spray. Not only does it protect your hair from heat styling but it also leaves Argan oil in your hair to keeps your hair silky and smooth. I then also use VO5 Frizz free cream, literally a pea size to the end of my hair again it protects and makes my hair look healthy and glossy. It's super important to use heat products in the summer, Because if your hair is weaker from heat styling and then left to sit in the sun, you will seriously damage your hair! 😳😳

Summer fragrance

This is not a summer essential .. well actually it kind of is. I love my perfumes and my favourite summer mist is "Pure Seduction by Victoria Secrets". Even more excited that this can be purchased in Super Drug! They also do a moisturiser and other products to match.

Lip balm 💄

Do no forget to keep your lips hydrated. It can be hard when MAC makes so many amazing summer lipsticks to forget to put lip balm on your lips. I use "baby lips" by Maybelline which is not only great for my lips but is also a tinted colour. I use this on a day to day bases at work for a natural look.

Backpacking – what to bring and what not to bringย

If your going ok your first backpacking adventure, like many you will be wondering what to bring. You don’t want to bring to much and be carrying a heavy bag around, but at the same time you need certain things to survive.

Ladies, hair dryers and hair straighteners are a no no. Your hair will dry within 20 mins of being outside, embrace nature drying your hair it’s all part of traveling. If you straighten or dry your hair in the heat, you will be damaging your hair big time. The biggest bonus of not brining these is it’s a lot of weight taken off your back. Plus my hair grew loads and feels healthier. You will however need lots of hair bands, I was forever wearing one and keeping one on my wrist. I went with 30 and came back with 3.

Make up was the hardest decision for me, as I’m the time of girl you hug and end up will my make up on your shirt. Travelling I took, two lots of BB cream and lipgloss both with additional suncream in them. Truth is, after two weeks I was way to tanned for my BB cream and my skin felt so healthy anyway I didn’t want to wear it. When we went on night out hardly anyone wore make up, apart from young girls that where there for a Party weekend.

Towels are a pain, not every hotel/hostel will provide you with towels. Plus you usually need your own towel for beaches or sitting beside the pool. We discovered microfibres towels, they roll up into a tiny sack. They try very quickly, if you poor water on them in the sun you can practically watch them dry.

Two paid of shoes only! Flip flops and comfy walking shoes. I invested in sketchers which were super comfy, when we moved from each destination I put my flip flops in my bag and wore my comfy shoes. We also had walking boots ( light but grippy) which we kept in my boyfriend bag as his was much bigger. The walking boots where perfect for rainy days and going for hilly walks.

I originally packed one of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and body wash. We packed these items in a seperare see through bag, with all or cosmetics. Don’t forget sunceeam and mosquito spray. One bottle of sunceeam lasted us sixweeks. There are shops, most of the time you will find it fairly cheap to buy these items.

Only bring one book, because you can buy books out their, they have book exchange cafes and most hostels you will find someone you can exchange with. If you have a kindle then that is ideal.

The biggest question is how many clothes to bring. The awnser is now much. I brought with me 3 pairs of shorts, 3 strap tops, 3 dresses, 2 strap tops, and a mix of four bikinis that I could mix and match. It dosent seem a lots but once you have put your costemtics, your shoes and your clothes in your bag will be pretty full. Plus I’m thaialnd was found so many clothes and items we wanted to buy and put in our bags.

Don’t forget a water proof jacket, for when it rains. I always had mine attatched to the outside of my bag.

It dosent matter what you bring, at the end of the day you will have fun. Brining less stuff just means, you will moan less when you are moving about.

What will I miss.. hmmm

Less then 24 hours until my flight to Thailand. Today, I am appreciating the small things I will miss for 3 months.

My make up, I am taking minimal make up. This means no fake lashes, no fake tan and no powdered eyebrows. I am unsure how I will cope with this! I have BB cream, concealer and I may take a mascara for full moon party’s ect.

My house coat ( or dressing gown as most people call it) I love nothing more then waking up and putting on my coat fluffy house coat. I love coming home from a stressful day at work, and getting into pjs and my fluffy house coat. Maybe I will be too warm in Thailand, to miss it.

Toast and tea! My friends who are travelling tell me breakfast is pad Thai, lunch is pad Thai, dinner pad Thai! I don’t think I’ll be eating toast. As for tea, apparently it’s rare to find and when you do find it, it dosent taste the same.

Today I am wearing my jeans, full face of make up, straightened hair Michael Korrs watch and it will be the last day wearing all of this for 3 months!!

I am very excited, I actually feel a little sickly as I have mixed emotions of excitement and feeling nervous.

I have a family carvery today and my best friends are also coming and then spending time with Tony’s family after.

After that I will try and sleep but I feel that I may me slightly to excited ooops.
