The Greatest Showman

A film about the man who invented the circus. A creative man with hopes and dreams. It sounds like it could be pretty cheesy right? And trust me I’m that friend that moans when the girls want to watch a soppy lovey cringey film. But this was something else, I would almost be extra cringey and say it was magical.

It is like nothing else I’ve ever seen before amazing actors, a different story line and the most beautiful songs.

I fell in-love with Zac Efron all over again, I felt like I was watching an adult version of high school musical. I thought any song he sings would be my favourite but Never enough by Loren Allred really did give my goose bumps.

Although the film was completely irrelevant to real life scenario’s I found myself relating the songs and films to my own life choice. The characters in the film each had strong personalities and you fell in love with each character individually.

I found myself driving home singing the playlist. Two weeks later and I’m still singing them in the shower.

Brilliant timing releasing this film just before all the film award programmes are on TV. Watching this space as I’m sure this film will win lots of awards.

Oh if you haven’t watched this film, I suggest you get in your car and go watch it now.

Halloween Make up From Revolution

It’s still early October but I’m already excited for Halloween. I have no idea what I’m dressing up as but I’ve watched plenty of YouTube make up tutorials.

I was inspired by Tammy on Make up Revolution YouTube channel. She used the SFX beauty Pallet, liquid latex, fake blood and dark lipstick. I actually ordered everything she used in the videos!

For this blog I wanted to share with you, my first attempt at using liquid latex, using the layering technique ( with tissue) and fake blood.

How to do it

  1. Apply liquid latex to the skin
  2. Separate tissue, to small thin layers and stick or piece over liquid latex
  3. Apply liquid latex over tissue
  4. Repeat process like 4-6 times
  5. Cut a hole in the β€œfake wound”
  6. Wait to dry and pour fake blood in

How I found it

I actually was impressed at how easy it was to do. It was pretty messy and even after I cleaned the bathroom, I kept spotting fake blood. I think it would be best to practice before doing the real deal, as I learnt that using small bits of tissue and building it up is really key.

Will I use it again

Defo! Can’t wait to use it for Halloween? Just need some outfit suggestions??? Let me know if you have any ideas???

Garnier – Matcha Tea & Clay

For today’s mask Monday, I am using Matcha Tea and clay mas by Garnier Skin Active brand.

This mask of for combination to oily skin is said to purify and give you fresh mattified and clean skin.

This week my skins in major need of TLC, I think the junk food has caught up with my skin and given me some big spots ( Sorry skin)

This mask is a great texture, really easy to apply! I love the smell of the mask too as it remind me off a tea tree mask but not as strong smell.

like most masks some areas dry quicker then other and even though it said 10 mins.. it was probably 12 mins until it was fully dry.

Getting it off was a little harder then putting it on. Some bits really clung to my skin and I used my beauty scrubber to remove it fully.

My skin felt super refreshed after and it felt really really clean.

Within a couple of days, my bigger spots started to dry a little ( and shrink) but the rest of my skin remained feeling fresh and moisturised!

I would defiantly recommend this one for when you are in need of a skin boost!

Would love to know if you have tried any similar masks?

Mask Monday – Pretty Smooth

I ordered this Pretty Smooth seaweed mud mask from Boohoo.com.

I must admit it smelt pretty amazing and smelt really fresh. It came in an easy squeezing tube. I did have to use quite a lot to

Cover my whole face.

It said leave on for 10-15 mins and then wash off. I didn’t feel like the mask was dry by this time and I left it on for a total of 20 mins. At this point is still wasn’t dry in an places.

I washed it off with a flannel, as it was difficult to take off with just water.

After my skin felt like it had a good wash, rather then a good face mask.

This product was very cheap ( literally a pound or two for a massive tube). I am sorry to say ( hate being a Debby downer) but this mask wasn’t very good. I didn’t feel like my skin was overall fresh for using a facemask.

Boutique of Molly

I discovered Boutique of Molly on Twitter, after noticing lots of of people following the account.

I had a look at their website and fell in love with there dresses and handbags! The clothes are not your usual clothes. They are unusual and fashionable. You feel like you have discovered something that only important people order from. What’s more, the prices are reasonable.

I was approached by the company and asked to pick and try an outfit. I would like to point out at this stage that opinions are my own and this is not a paid ad.

To start start sure I found it difficult to choose, just one outfit that I liked. I finally decided on the “Evie Dress”.

The dress came next day delivery and arrived in the cutest pink packaging!!!

You can feel straight away that the material is good quality. I love the colours, and even though they are different shades of grey.. you can see the contrast between each grey shade.

I defiantly feel I could wear this dress for a smart / Casual occasion. It would be great to wear this for a dinner occasion with a pair of little black heels.

I cannot wait to place my next order! I am loving the handbags and think this may be next order! I perticular like this grey handbag!

I would defiantly recommend having a look, the process from ordering on the pink website, the pink packaging and beautiful clothing makes online shopping a girly treat.

Thank you for reading my review, and I would like to offer you a discount code: DL20

I’m Traveling Along by Samuel Bjork

Traveling Alone is a German book, and in my case I read the version that was translated into English. It is set in Germany is a crime novel about a police drama with some horrific and sinister crimes.

Although I may not of been able to pronounce all of the characters name or all of the towns that they lived in; I felt as if I entered a fascinating and cultured world.

The style of which this book was written in, was very similar to Paul's Hawkins books. In the sense, that there are lots of different characters; all with their own story and link to the bigger picture.

Some characters I found it difficult to love or hate, but in the end it's clear the motives of the characters.

I was interested throughout, not knowing weather each page would bring my closer to the links or to the horrific crimes.

I found this book a longer book then normal and sometimes I loose interest when it's a long read but I was hooked all the way through. It was one of those books that when you put it down, you are left thinking about it.. why did she do that? What was that persons motives?

If your looking for a police novel, that's linked with chilling and unusual crimes, then this book is defo of interest for you!

It's was recommended to me, and now I am recommending it to you!

Hide and seek by M J ArlidgeΒ

Hide and seek by Mj Arlidge is about a cop who is currently in prison awaiting trial for the murder of three people. She aims to be on her best behaviour and avoid conflict with other inmates and to make it her trail. This become increasingly difficult as murders begin to happen, and the saying curiosity killed that cat comes to mind. She can’t keep herself away from being a cop and what to find out what happens.

The book is slow to get into at the beginning and I personally found it a little difficult to follow. The book is written in third person, each chapter being 3-4 pages and each chapter flicking from character to character. Once you’ve got a quarter the way through the book, you feel that you almost know everyone but you really don’t know any of them until the end.

The details of the murders are chilling and again very unexpected. When I read books I like to imagine how they would pan out in a movie and it would defiantly be a 18+ movie.

This is a great book if you like guess the murderer type books. It will keep you wondering through out, plenty of cliff hangers. You find yourself going about your daily life and trying to clue together who you think the murdere is. I had around four suspects in my own head, and it wasn’t any of them.

Defiantly reccomend.

Missing presumed by Sussie Steiner

Missing presumed is a crime thriller  based on a girl that suddenly goes missing.
The girls boyfriend and family are worried sick and the police begin to think the case is suspicious and have to rule people out.
The great aspect of this is book is there a lot of different characters. The more you read, the more you learn about the characters and become suspicious of different people.
Although, the book is written in third person, each chapter is named after the person that this chapter will focus on.
There lots of shocking twists through the book, which makes the book even more gripping.

Defiantly a recommend and I am excited to discover a new book is coming out in 2017!
